Light Show, Buckingham Fountain, Grant Park, Chicago
As if the size of Buckingham Fountain and its hourly water spectacle wouldn't be enough, it also offers an impressive light and music show. It can be heard and seen from afar and is hard to miss, but if you want to take some decent pictures, you should be there early enough.
You will have to set up your tripod and there are just so many angles and options that it is hard to choose. In fact, I did change my position several times during the show, which lasts about 20 minutes.
Usually, there are also many spectators who like to line up right in front of the fountain. There are two ways to approach this. You can either move in closely and stand right at the fountain; or you can step further away and include some of the people. Since a lot of them will move around during your long exposure shots, you will just have to try and see what works.
