Near Mauna Lahi Resort in Kohala, follow the Malama Trail to the petroglyphs. The trail winds through a beautiful and shady kiawe forest. But be aware of the kiawe thorns. At the end of the trail, you will find a field of lavawith hundreds of carvings.
